Dr. Shayan (Sean/Sansón) Taheri served as a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor at the Institute for Health and Cyber Knowledge (I-HACK) at the Gannon University (GU) under the supervision of Professor Ramakrishnan Sundaram from August 2022 to May 2023, encompassing the Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 academic semesters. Before joining the GU and contributing to its Christian Academic Education as well as its "STEM in Christian World" goals, and as a promoter and defender of "Humanity, Logic, and Science" as a way of life, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Florida Institute for Cybersecurity Research (FICS Research) in the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering at the University of Florida (UF) under the supervision of Professor Mark M. Tehranipoor and Professor Navid Asadi.

He has acquired his Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical Engineering from the University of Central Florida (UCF) under the supervision of Professor Jiann-Shiun (Peter) Yuan and Master of Science in Computer Engineering from the Utah State University (USU) under the supervision of Professor Ryan M. Gerdes. Dr. Sean/Sansón Taheri is a Lawful Permanent Resident of the United States of America (U.S.A.) due to having advanced degrees and exceptional abilities. He has served as the Chairperson of the Educational Activities Committee (EAC) of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) - Region 2 (which includes the states of Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia along with the city of Washington, District of Columbia), the Faculty Advisor of the GU - IEEE Student Branch, a Professional Member of the IEEE, a Professional Member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), and a Professional Member of the IEEE Eta Kappa Nu (ΗΚΝ) International Honor Society.

As an individual who is interested in continuous professional development, Sean has been doing research and teaching in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) since 2009 over the course his Postdoctoral Fellow, Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), Master of Science (M.Sc.), and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) programs. He consider himself as an extremely hard-working Software and Hardware Engineer with an array of credentials to support this statement. For complementing his diverse skill set, he has developed an excellent understanding of a wide range of high-level programming languages and Hardware Description Languages - HDLs (such as C++, MATLAB, and Python along with Verilog HDL and VHDL) and technical tools (for Application-Specific Integrated Circuit - ASIC and Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) Design from Synopsys, Cadence, and Xilinx vendors). This skill set has been demonstrated throughout his published research works, course projects, and teaching experiences. During his education, Shayan has strengthened his supplementary proficiency as well such as problem solving, time management, team-oriented, engineering ethics, collaborative and tenacious attitudes, and being able to work in a high-pressure and challenging environment. This has resulted him in achieving professional competency in the major operational and technical areas toward becoming a knowledgeable researcher.
